The first country to consume sugar

Diamonds were first mined in India
Initially , diamonds were only found in the alluvial deposits in Guntur and Krishna river delta .Until diamonds were discovered in Brazil, India was the leading producer of diamonds.
The earliest cotton spun in India
Roman Emperors used to wear clothes made of Indian cotton which they called “woven winds”.
India discovered the length of an year
Bhaskaracharya, the great astronomer and mathematician of ancient India, was the first person to calculate the time taken by the earth to orbit the sun.
India the ancient homeland of Mathematics
It was during the 6th century that Budhayana first calculated the value of pie and explained the concept of Pythagoras theorem.
It is interesting to note that ancient India was so advanced in science and mathematics that Algebra, trigonometry and calculus all came from India. In the 11th century Sridharacharya propounded the Quadratic equations.
India the pioneer in medicines
The great physician of ancient India, Sushruta conducted complicated surgeries like cesareans, cataract, artificial limbs, fractures, stones, plastic surgery and brain surgery.
Usage of anesthesia was well known in ancient India.
India the pioneer of modern metallurgy
Zinc is being produced in India since the Vedic ages. The conversion of zinc oxide to zinc is very difficult as there is only a three degree window between solid zinc oxide and zinc vapour .Purified zinc is the liquid state. Indians just inverted the boiler and placed a tub of water underneath so that when the zinc oxide would attain it's liquid state it dripped in the tub of water and solidify. The obtained solid is pure zinc .
Is earth round?
1000 years ago Indians knew that earth was round .In Sanskrit geography is called “ bhugol” meaning “bhu” is earth “gol” is round.
One of the avatars of God Vishnu is Varaha Avatar , here it is shown Vishnu holding the earth in his tusk .See the earth shown in the picture above is round.
India in recent times
This is Dr. Subhash Mukhopadhyay ,who created the world's second and India's first child using in-vitro fertilisation, Durga who was born 67 days after the first IVF baby in United Kingdom .
If studied in detail ,he was actually the architect of IVF . He was humiliated and intervened for continuing his experiments before the experts called him fraud and his experiments bogus , dejected Dr. Mukhopadhayay committed suicide on 19th June 1981.
He was given posthumous recognitions and felicitations by the Indian Government.
