Note - J&K is only state of India with Majority as Muslims. Still Muslims in J&k have Minority status.
  • Citizen of J&K have Dual Citizenship- one of Republic India and otherof Jammu and Kashmir State.
Note - If a person has both the citizenship then only he is entitled to buy a land in J&K. Some special cases-
  • If a girl from J&K marries a boy of any other Indian state. Neither she nor her husband can buy the land.
  • If a boy of J&K marries a girl of any other state of India both the boy and her wife are entitled to buy the land.
  • J&K is the only state which has its own Constitution. - J&K Constitution was framed on January 26, 1957..
  • J&K has its own flag also.
  • J&K has two capitals-
  • Jammu - In winter(ie 6 months)
  • Srinagar- In summer(ie 6 months)
  • Tenure of J&K state Assembly is of  years and not  years.
  • Hence elections in J&K happen after 6 years.
  • Literacy Rate of Kashmiri Pandits is overall much higher than that of both India & Pakistan.
  • Kashmiri Pandits literacy rate touches % and not less than % by any deviation.
  • In Summers Temperature of Jammu Region touches  also & In winters Temp of Leh and Kargil goes down to  also.
  • Kashmiri Tea ( chai) :
  • Pink in Colour- called NoonChai
  • Green in colour called Kehwah.
Note: ‘Noon’ is a Kashmiri word meaning Salt. Hence in this tea we put salt rather than Sugar. Hence it is unlike regular tea.
  • President rules are not applicable to J&K state. Governor of J&K state works like President of J&K.
  • Supreme Court Order is not the Highest judgement.
  • J&K state have seperate State Symbols-
  • State Flower- Lotus.
  • State Tree- Chinar.
  • State Animal- Hangul.
  • State Bird- Black Necked Crane.

  • Worlds Highest Bridge on Chenab is the Next wonder of the world.
  • Till now there is no connectivity b/w Jammu and Kashmir in terms of Railway. However Jammu is internally linked and Kashmir also is internally linked.
  • Jammu City is known as City of Temples.
  • Ladakh is known as Little Tibet.
  • Kashmir is known as Heaven of Earth.
